Working with image manipulations gives me a possibility to transfer my thoughts into an image. After more than 30 years in the photography business I have been through many different types of photography, landscape and long exposure photography, portrait, weddings, commercial and studio photography and so on. I have found it very difficult to be true to just one style, and have been constantly seeking other aspects and techniques in my image making.

For me, making photomanipulations and montages have become a blessing. I can still shoot all the types of images I metioned above, and then build something totally different from it, and tell a totally different story. I’m not saying that it’s not possible to tell a story with a “regular” image, but when I get an idea it would be very difficult to arrange the story in just i just one shot. I have to collect the elements I need, and then mount everything in photoshop.

The image is from my series “VOYAGE”. My wife was diagnosed with cancer in 2015, and the image illustrates the fear of loosing.
